A New Printer for the Lab
After eight years of faithful service, our HP printer has finally reached the end of the road. Rather than repair an aging machine, the board has approved its replacement with a new Brother MFC-L8930CDW Business Color Laser All-in-One printer
What the New Printer Offers
The MFC-L8930CDW is a significant upgrade. It prints and copies in full color at speeds up to 33 pages per minute, with sharp text and vivid color output suited to everything from routine paperwork to presentation-quality documents. A large color touchscreen makes it easy to manage jobs, and the automatic document feeder handles double-sided scanning of up to 80 pages at a time, so bulk copying and scanning are quick and hands-off.
Connectivity is flexible: the printer supports wireless and wired network printing, along with mobile printing from phones and tablets. It also includes advanced security features to help keep printed and scanned material protected.
On confidentiality: for anyone who prefers not to send sensitive documents over the network, the printer has a front-facing USB port that allows printing directly from — and scanning directly to — a USB memory stick, no network connection required.
Printing Costs
For members, printing remains free for up to ten copies per day. Beyond that daily allowance, the standard non-member rate of $0.10 per copy applies.
